MARC by Marc Jacobs sent his fall 2011 collection down the New York Fashion Week runway today and it evoked a vintage, 1970s vibe with earth tone colors, burnt orange, golden tones and a touch of wine. MARC by Marc Jacobs also featured several handbags on the fall runway. The collection included the daytime clutch, Lady Bag and a short strap shoulder bag. While other designers are creating long shoulder straps for their handbags, Marc Jacobs designed a short shoulder strap for his MARC by Marc Jacobs’s line. The shoulder bag tucked nicely under the model’s armpit in a throwback silhouette from roughly ten years ago. In addition to the shoulder bag, Marc Jacobs created a multi-tone hobo for the runway which was casual and roomy; perfect for weekend day trips. The hobo bag featured a shoulder strap which allowed the bag to hit at the waist. Marc Jacobs also included the daytime clutch in his MARC by Marc Jacobs fall collection. The clutch shown on the runway was burnt orange which blended well with the golden and earth toned colors of the collection. The daytime clutch was squared and made from stiff yet smooth leather. The Lady Bag made an appearance on the MARC by Marc Jacobs’s runway in a brick red tone with two top handles and a detachable shoulder strap.
