Gianfranco Ferre sent their fall 2011 collection down the Milan Fashion Week runway today. Gianfranco Ferre’s collection was filled with winter white, quiet shimmer and classic investment pieces. The one handbag that made an impact on the Gianfranco Ferre, Milan Fashion Week runway was the structured exotic skin Lady Bag. The Lady Bag was an important handbag for fall 2010 and while it faded behind shoulder bags and clutches for spring 2011, it has come back with a vengeance for fall 2011. The Lady Bag is a term coined for a top handle toe or satchel which is, in general, a more structured and dressy style of handbag. The Lady Bag is considered a classic yet it currently enjoys “IT” bag status with the long strap shoulder bag. Gianfranco Ferre’s Lady Bag is an understated yet luxurious take on the classic Lady Bag. The handbag featured one top handle and was created from beige crocodile. The Gianfranco Ferre Lady Bag was on the smaller side yet roomy enough for a wallet, keys, lipstick, smart phone and small camera. The silver hardware combined with the luxurious exotic skins allow for the Gianfranco Ferre Lady Bag to be worn for dressy occasions either during the day or one a warm summer night.
