Kate Spade presented her fall 2011 collection this morning during New York Fashion Week and it was black, white and red all over. Kate Spade combined classic black and white ensembles with eye popping accessories of red shoes and red handbags. Red is one of the more prominent colors that have been found thus far on the fall runways in New York and Berlin, as well as in the men’s shows in Paris and Milan earlier this year. Kate Spade, who rose to fashion fame in the mid-1990’s with her shopper tote, created a combination of classic and serious handbags as well as avant-garde pieces. The handbag styles Kate Spade presented included shoulder bags, whimsical clutches and the famed Lady Bag. In addition to red, Spade’s handbag collection was done in black, gray, magenta and beige. Kate Spade created a medium sized shoulder bag for her fall 2011 collection which included a large bow; a spring trend which is carrying into fall. The shoulder bag featured a flap closure, shoulder strap which allowed the body of the bag to hit the model mid-hip and crocodile stamped leather. The shoulder bag was featured in red and black. There was also a whimsical keyboard clutch in Kate Spade’s collection which was long and featured a small keyboard for spontaneous musical breakouts while out on the town. (Please note, keyboard does not actually play music.) The Lady Bag made a large appearance on Kate Spade’s presentation floor. The top handle satchel featured one top handle and a flap closure. The Lady Bag was large and done in solid black tweed giving the handbag a vintage and classic vibe.
